DON'T STARE AT ME
Rollo stands at six foot one and weighs about a hundred and sixty pounds. He is a slightly muscular man with a strong torso and legs who keeps himself fit by exercising at least once a week and jogging nearly every day. His skin is olive, and rather tan in the summer months. He has a small scar in the space between his thumb and forefinger, which is only noticeable if one decides to look closely, and a larger scar on the back of his ankle that is about an inch and a half long.
His eyes are dark blue, and his brows give him the appearance of someone very serious, or even someone morose. Rollo's hair is chestnut brown and cut short, when he actually remembers to get it cut. Even if it is short, it still manages to be inevitably messy and sticky-uppy when he doesn't want it to. Rollo has no real sense of style, as he prefers to just grab whatever's closest at hand and throw it on, but he will get dressed in a stuffy suit if prompted to. He tends to have a five-o'clock effect most of the time, as he always seems to forget to shave regularly, and often he even has a full goatee.
I WON'T SHUT UP, I KNOW THAT I SHOULD
An ostensibly mild-mannered and serious man, Rollo is not one to engage in social activities or be involved in any sort of drama, at least not if he can help it. This does not mean, however, that he won't take part in a long conversation if provoked. Usually, these conversations are sparked by questions over history, his job, or some personal opinion of him. Rollo is, though he wouldn't admit it, a very opinionated fellow. He has a very set belief when it comes to certain things, and changing his viewpoint is a very long and difficult process.
His stubbornness and the fact that he's so set in his ways has gotten him in trouble in the past, but it never really changed how he acted. He's just as eccentric now as he was ten years ago, despite being reprimanded for his odd habits and, what some would consider, unconventional teaching habits. His somewhat indifferent opinion of higher authority has also caused problems in the past, mostly with the authority figures in question.
Outside of work (when he dares to venture outside), Rollo is not much different than how he behaves in school. Quiet, contemplative, chronically distracted, he's either a daydreamer or never has something interesting to catch his attention. A social life never seems to have crossed the man's mind, and dating is out of the question to the workaholic teacher. Besides his one-track-mind tendencies (that one track being must grade papers, must grade papers, must grade papers...), Rollo tends to use sarcasm and callousness to push people away. This behavior is his attempt at self-preservation, as none of his past relationships have brought him anything but woe. Work is all he needs, he says, so work is all he'll have.

LIVING IN THE PAST
History:
Rollo Forde was born in a beach-side town in Jersey. His parents were both fairly successful in their choices of careers, so Rollo's childhood was a comfortable one. He was a serious young boy who enjoyed reading and games that involved logic and strategy, and he did well in most subjects at school. Literature was sometimes a failing point for him, mostly due to his horrendous spelling, but he made up for this by broadening his vocabulary and making allusions to things that dumbfounded his teachers.
History was, of course, his best and favorite subject. The legacy of kings, wars of the past, intrigue - all of it fascinated him. He began studying history inside and outside of school. His passion for history only grew as he got older, and in high school he signed up for the courses he thought would best help him understand history better - languages, mythology, law, current events - and he excelled in many of them. Rollo thought that someday he'd like to be a historian, and to see the places he had only read about in books.
His plans didn't reach fruition as quickly as he'd hoped. He began studying for a teaching degree, which was, in truth, only a back up for what he wanted his career to be. However, Rollo found that he liked teaching, and liked the thought that he could be helping youth find their path in life. Besides that, he loved history and loved talking about history, so why shouldn't he take advantage of the opportunities teaching gave him?
So instead of traveling the world like he had originally planned, he began as a student teacher in a local high school. Even then, his habits and opinions were somewhat looked down upon by his peers and employers. His advocation of freedom of expression, his urging for students to branch out beyond what they could get from school as a way to learn more, and even his methods of teaching made the authority in the high school weary.
The school board told him at last that he would need to find work somewhere else, and Rollo responded with his usual cynicism. "You wanted just another mindless sheep, I understand. You must have been so disappointed to find out I actually had thoughts of my own." He left soon after, and went in search of a new place of work. He found that work in a place he had never expected: a reform school.
Red Sky Academy was desperate for teachers at the time, which made receiving the job a little less sweet for Rollo. Still, being wanted for what he was was refreshing to him, so he accepted the offered job without much hesitation. His unique methods, and his own eccentricities were not frowned upon by his employers, in fact, they seemed to be wanted. Rollo had finally found his place, at least for the time being, and he didn't care much that that place was called the "last stop" for many teachers like him.

Christian had not been to a zoo since he was six years old. His sister had been eleven, almost a teenager and with the growing cynicism of one. His mother and father had still been together, and Christian had been too young to notice if the two had any hints of the marriage problems they would later develop. It had been a fine time for the young Chris. He had always loved animals, and the thought of seeing creatures from every part of the world had been exciting to him. The trip to the zoo hadn't worked out quite as planned. His mother had started complaining about walking around in heels, and his father was constantly being interrupted by phone calls from work. Chris finally just fell dead asleep when they stopped for food, and when he awoke he was safe at home in bed. That had been his last trip to the zoo.
Now, he was visiting another zoo, in a different state, and the familiar feeling of excitement was coming back to him. Christian wasn't just excited because he would have the opportunity to see all the cool animals he had read in the official information packet the Franklin Park Zoo had, from gorillas to butterflies, he planned to see it all. No, there was something else he was excited about too. And that something - actually, that someone was coming along with him on his first return trip to see the zoo.
"Jeez. You can hear the wildlife from here," Chris commented with a smile to his date. It was true, he could hear the cacophony of all the various animal cries and coos from where he stood at the entrance of the zoo. Actually, he had heard the faint sounds from the zoo when he had been in the parking lot, unless that had just been his excitable imagination. The blonde hoped his idea for visiting the zoo was a good date prospect for Lycan. He knew the older man loved animals, so he had thought it would be perfect. Then again, maybe Lycan would have preferred to go somewhere more private or subdued. Christian glanced over at his date again, his green eyes bright with curiosity, hoping to gauge Lycan's reaction.
