Is there anything better than to be longing for something, when you know it is within reach?

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF
Nicknames: Tony, but only if you know him well Age: 18 D.O.B. May 5 Gender: Male Sexuality: Bisexual Grade: Senior
DON'T STARE AT ME
A slightly muscular young man who stands at 5'11 and weighs about a hundred and forty-five pounds, Anthony carries himself with a certain level of confidence and toughness. His hair is dark brown and always in a mess, and Anthony often cuts it himself to save on money, which only makes it worse. He usually has a bit of scruffy facial hair, though sometimes he keeps a clean shave to have a more civilized appearance. Tony's eyes are blueish-green with flecks of brown in them, and sort of almond shaped.
He wears hand-me-down clothes from various members of his family, and whatever he doesn't get from them he gets from Goodwill. In short, his clothes are nothing to write home about. They're often worn out or faded, sometimes with holes or tears in the fabric. Anthony doesn't care, though. Fashion is meaningless to him, so he takes what he gets without complaint. He has two distinguishing markings: a crescent scar on his left bicep, and a tattoo around his ankle that says "Life Won't Wait".
I WON'T SHUT UP, I KNOW THAT I SHOULD
Anthony is compulsive. His actions are usually unplanned and sporratic, which has gotten him into trouble countless times. He doesn't care about rules or regulations when he's in a heated state, and his manic emotions can blind him to sense and reason. His reckless behavior can make him hard to calm down.

Christian had not been to a zoo since he was six years old. His sister had been eleven, almost a teenager and with the growing cynicism of one. His mother and father had still been together, and Christian had been too young to notice if the two had any hints of the marriage problems they would later develop. It had been a fine time for the young Chris. He had always loved animals, and the thought of seeing creatures from every part of the world had been exciting to him. The trip to the zoo hadn't worked out quite as planned. His mother had started complaining about walking around in heels, and his father was constantly being interrupted by phone calls from work. Chris finally just fell dead asleep when they stopped for food, and when he awoke he was safe at home in bed. That had been his last trip to the zoo.
Now, he was visiting another zoo, in a different state, and the familiar feeling of excitement was coming back to him. Christian wasn't just excited because he would have the opportunity to see all the cool animals he had read in the official information packet the Franklin Park Zoo had, from gorillas to butterflies, he planned to see it all. No, there was something else he was excited about too. And that something - actually, that someone was coming along with him on his first return trip to see the zoo.
"Jeez. You can hear the wildlife from here," Chris commented with a smile to his date. It was true, he could hear the cacophony of all the various animal cries and coos from where he stood at the entrance of the zoo. Actually, he had heard the faint sounds from the zoo when he had been in the parking lot, unless that had just been his excitable imagination. The blonde hoped his idea for visiting the zoo was a good date prospect for Lycan. He knew the older man loved animals, so he had thought it would be perfect. Then again, maybe Lycan would have preferred to go somewhere more private or subdued. Christian glanced over at his date again, his green eyes bright with curiosity, hoping to gauge Lycan's reaction.
